Step 3: The Yam Suph Crossing, The Manna Sabbath Proof, and The Covenant Nuptials at Sinai

📜 Scriptural Foundation

“And Mosheh took the bones of Yosĕph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, Elohim will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 13:19

“And Mosheh said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of Yahuah, which He will shew to you to day: for the Mitsrites whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. Yahuah shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace… And the children of Yisra’ĕl went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 14:13–14, 22

“Then said Yahuah unto Mosheh, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in My law, or no. And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily… And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man… And he said unto them, This is that which Yahuah hath said, To morrow is the rest of the set-apart Sabbath unto Yahuah.”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 16:4–5, 22–23

“And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because Yahuah descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly… And Elohim spake all these words, saying, I am Yahuah thy Elohim, which have brought thee out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of bondage.”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 19:18; 20:1–2

“And Mosheh took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which Yahuah hath made with you concerning all these words.”
— Shemoth (Exodus) 24:8

🧭 In Plain Words (Seeker’s Summary)

  1. Why Did Yahuah Lead Yisra’ĕl into a Natural Dead-End at the Yam Suph?
Yahuah deliberately instructed Yisra’ĕl to turn and camp between the mountains and the sea at Pi-Hahiroth, directly opposite Baal-Zephon (the last standing temple of Mitsrayim’s maritime storm god). This made Yisra’ĕl appear helplessly trapped to Par’oh’s scouts (“the wilderness has shut them in”), baiting Par’oh’s elite chariot army into the open sea bed where the Supreme Court of Heaven executed the final military destruction of Mitsrayim’s imperial forces.

  2. How Did the Yam Suph Actually Part?
When Mosheh stretched out his staff, Yahuah drove the sea back with a powerful supernatural east wind blowing all night. The waters congealed into towering solid walls on both sides, and the seabed was dried instantly into compacted, dry earth, allowing two to three million Hebrews, their children, flocks, and the cedar coffin of Joseph to cross safely. At dawn, Yahuah loosened the chariot wheels of the pursuing Mitsrites and released the towering walls of water, drowning Par’oh’s army without a single survivor.

  3. How Does the Manna Miracle Prove the Seventh-Day Sabbath?
A full month before arriving at Mount Sinai, Yahuah instituted a daily biological test through Manna in the Wilderness of Sin:

    • Days 1 through 5: One omer fell per person; if hoarded overnight, it bred worms and stank.
    • Day 6: A double portion fell (two omers); kept overnight, it remained fresh with zero worms and zero odor.
    • Day 7 (Sabbath): Zero Manna fell. This proved that the Seventh-Day Sabbath was an eternal creation ordinance (Genesis 2:1–3) actively enforced before the Ten Commandments were written on stone, and it completely dismantles the modern heresy of “floating lunar Sabbaths.”
  4. What Truly Happened at Mount Sinai on Shavuot?
Mount Sinai was a national marriage ceremony (Kiddushin). Yahuah descended upon the smoking, trembling mountain in blazing fire, accompanied by an ear-shattering Shofar blast. With His own audible voice, He spoke the Ten Words (Aseret Ha’Devarim) directly into the ears of the entire nation. Yisra’ĕl agreed to the marriage contract (The Ketubah), answering: “All that Yahuah has spoken we will do and be obedient!” The covenant was then sealed when Mosheh sprinkled the Blood of the Covenant on the altar and upon the people.

1. The Theological Meaning of Baal-Zephon (Exodus 14:2)

  • Baal-Zephon was the ancient Canaanite/Mitsrite temple dedicated to the patron lord of the sea and storms.
  • By drawing Par’oh’s army directly in front of Baal-Zephon, Yahuah proved that even the so-called “lord of the sea” was utterly powerless in his own territory, demonstrating that Yahuah alone commands the wind and waves.

2. The Parting of the Waters (Exodus 14:21–22)

  • Scripture specifies that the sea did not merely recede; it was divided by a supernatural Ruach Kadim (powerful east wind).
  • Exodus 15:8 (Song of the Sea) describes the physical phenomenon: “And with the blast of Thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed (qaf’u - solidified / curdled like ice) in the heart of the sea.”
  • Yisra’ĕl did not wade through ankle-deep marshland; they walked upon dry ground between towering, solidified walls of water.

3. The Demolition of Mitsrayim’s Military Elite (Exodus 14:23–28)

  • Par’oh’s army, blinded by rage, charged into the seabed corridor.
  • In the morning watch, Yahuah looked through the pillar of fire and threw the Mitsrite host into total confusion (Vayaham).
  • He stripped off their chariot wheels (Vayasor et ofan markevotav), causing the axle-trees to dig into the ground, completely immobilizing their mechanized warfare.
  • At Mosheh’s outward stretch of his hand, the sea returned to its strength at sunrise. “There remained not so much as one of them.”

🍞 The Seven-Day Manna Cycle: The Pre-Sinai Sabbath Proof

Two and a half weeks before reaching Sinai, in the Wilderness of Sin on Month 2 Day 15, the provisions of Mitsrayim were completely consumed. Yisra’ĕl murmured against Mosheh and Aharon for food (Exodus 16:1–3).

Yahuah responded not merely by providing food, but by turning daily food into a mathematical and biological test of the Seventh-Day Sabbath:

4 Unassailable Truths Established by the Manna

  1. The Sabbath Existed Long Before Mount Sinai: The Manna fell and ceased in an unbroken 7-day rhythm weeks before Yisra’ĕl reached Mount Sinai. The Sabbath was not an invention for the Jews; it was the pristine memorial of Creation (Genesis 2:1–3).
  2. Weekly Biological Miracle: For forty consecutive years (2,080 consecutive weeks), Yahuah performed a weekly suspension of natural bacterial decay on the night of Day 6, keeping the Manna sweet and fresh only on the Sabbath!
  3. Severe Indictment of Sabbath Breakers (Exodus 16:27–29): When certain people went out on the Seventh Day to gather, Yahuah roared: “How long refuse ye to keep My commandments and My laws? See, for that Yahuah hath given you the Sabbath, therefore He giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days!”
  4. Complete Destruction of the “Floating Lunar Sabbath” Theory: Modern groups claim the Sabbath floats based on moon phases (requiring 8 or 9 days between Sabbaths at month’s end). The Manna completely demolishes this: Manna fell for 6 days and paused on the 7th day in an unbroken cycle of seven days, week after week, month after month, with zero extra days!

⚡ The Mount Sinai Theophany & The Ketubah (Marriage Contract)

On Month 3 Day 15 (Shavuot), the 50th day following the departure from Mitsrayim on the 364-Day Enochian Solar Clock, Mount Sinai was transformed into the cosmic wedding altar of Heaven:

💍 The Blood Ratification & The Sapphire Wedding Feast (Exodus 24)

Following the audible proclamation, the formal national marriage treaty was executed:

  1. The Ketubah Written: Mosheh wrote down all the words of Yahuah in the Book of the Covenant (Sefer Ha’Brit) (Exodus 24:4).
  2. The 12-Pillar Altar: At the foot of the mountain, Mosheh erected an altar of earth and set up twelve stone pillars representing the twelve tribes of Yisra’ĕl.
  3. The Sprinkling of the Blood (Dam Ha’Brit):
    • Young men offered bullocks as burnt offerings and peace offerings.
    • Mosheh took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half he splashed against the altar of Yahuah.
    • He took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people.
    • All Yisra’ĕl responded with their binding wedding vows: “All that Yahuah hath said will we do, and be obedient!” (Exodus 24:7)
    • Mosheh took the blood in the basins and sprinkled it directly upon the people, declaring:

“BEHOLD THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT, WHICH YAHUAH HATH MADE WITH YOU CONCERNING ALL THESE WORDS.” (Exodus 24:8; Hebrews 9:19–20)

  4. The Sapphire Pavement & The Covenant Meal (Exodus 24:9–11):
    • Mosheh, Aharon, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Yisra’ĕl ascended the mountain.
    • They saw the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl: under His feet was a glorious paved work of brilliant sapphire stone (Livnat HaSapir), clear as the body of heaven itself!
    • The Almighty laid not His hand upon the nobles of Yisra’ĕl: they beheld Elohim, and did eat and drink—the formal covenant wedding feast ratifying the eternal marriage between Yahuah and His bride!

⚖️ Oral Defense & Courtroom Cross-Examination

Question 1: “How does the Manna cycle permanently disprove modern Christian arguments that the Sabbath was only a temporary ceremonial shadow introduced at Sinai?”

  • The Forensic Resolution:
    • In Exodus 16:4, prior to reaching Sinai, Yahuah states that the Manna is sent “that I may prove them, whether they will walk in My law, or no.”
    • If the Sabbath law did not yet exist, Yisra’ĕl could not be tested on whether they were keeping it or breaking it!
    • In Exodus 16:28, when some went out on Day 7, Yahuah asked: “How long refuse ye to keep My commandments and My laws?”—using plural nouns (Mitzvotai v’Torotai), proving that the Sabbath was an established, pre-existing constitutional law established at Creation (Genesis 2:1–3).

Question 2: “Why did the people beg Mosheh to speak to them instead of hearing Yahuah’s voice directly after the Ten Commandments?”

  • The Forensic Resolution:
    • Exodus 20:18–19 records that the sensory magnitude of Yahuah’s audible voice, combined with the thunder, lightning, and quaking mountain, was so terrifying that the people feared physical annihilation: “Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not Elohim speak with us, lest we die!”
    • This established the necessity of a Mediator between holy Yahuah and fallen humanity—a role filled initially by Mosheh, and fulfilled in perfection by Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, the Mediator of the Renewed Covenant (1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 12:18–24).
